Ack...I thought there has been a product review on this before? No, well this product is not really that good.
Ingredients: sodium chloride, magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, potassium chloride, potassium iodide
Besides having the WRONG type of calcium, it is normal table salt (sodium chloride/ potassium iodide), and they have thrown in the highly corrosive magnesium chloride to keep the iodine stablized...you know we avoid using table salt...I would like to see the research these schmucks did on their product! While iodine is required by all living things, the natural form comes into a hermit crabs diet by spirulina! This product can cause over toxification fron iodine, which results in a crab not being able to harden after a molt!!!!!
I would recommend you get a regular dechlorinator, and an ocean salt mix. Use a cleaned milk jug to mix it, and then just refill your spray bottle with it! This is a SUCKER product and not even remotely healthy for crabs!!!!

Thanks for the info! i will go get a different dechlorinater. what brand do you recommend?
And I do have instant ocean!

Personally I do not use a dechlorinator, but that is because I use distilled water. But there are many crabbers who seem to have had luck using Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Tap Water Conditioner and it is sold at PetSmart:

Thanks for the info! I was a sucker of 'HBH Aqua-PureTM? Safe Safe Soak & Spray® for Hermit Crabs' as well. I guess we have pretty much learned that almost anything sold in stores as "hermit crab specific" is probably not actually that great for your hermit crabs.
I find it amazing how little pet stores actually know about hermit crabs. Anyways, thanks I will be switching to 'Aquarium Pharmaceuticals Tap Water Conditioner'.
My hermies say Thank You!
